Alan was a long-standing friend from our time together at University - all those years ago. My wife and I were so pleased to meet up with Alan and Jane only last August and the four of us had such a happy and enjoyable day together. Alan's loss is so tragic and shocking. I hope everyone's words comfort you as you think about Alan at this difficult time. I worked with Alan for many years and his willingness to share his knowledge and do presentations sometimes at rather short notice will be a lasting legacy. My thoughts are with his family.
